F14 Tomcat
Leaving the white sands of Santa Rosa Island (Fort Pickens), heading to New Orleans, we couldn't avoid a stop at the Pensacola National Naval Aviation Museum... remember TOP GUN, Tom Cruise...
A great and free museum, with loads of planes, plenty history around naval aviation starting with the amazing story of USS Enterprise CV-6; the most decorated ship of WWII (and actually of all times).
You can sit in a cockpit, walk down a street of Pensacola in the 40th (visit a shop or a house back then), step on an aircraft carrier an experience the various ships quarters...
The kids just loved it, and we wish we had a bit more time to go through more detailed history...
Not the CV-6, one of the more latest Nimitz carrier in motion
