The Project

Tic, Tac, the clock never stops, and there is so many to discover... 2012 is the start of a new adventure, time for us to look at the other side of the Atlantic, thousand miles away from our beautiful Alpes.

The trip will start on 19th August 2012, from Anchorage, should take us all the way to Ushuaia, and should end in April 2013 on a sunny beach for a month of windsurfing and kitsurfing. Where precisely, this is yet to be defined but we have a few ideas: north of Peru in Mancora, an island of the reef of Belize, Ocean Bay in Saint Martin Carabbean... We might have a special guest and he should be exploring the options!

The below map tracks places recommended by the many people we discussed our Americas tour. We will update the map as we travel to reflect places we effectively visited.

Afficher AmericaTour sur une carte plus grande

After 122 days, 11,811 miles onboard of our RV and many more on the Alaskan Highways (Marine & Land), after seeing the highest mountain of North America (Mount McKinley) and reaching the lowest point in USA (Bad waters, Death Valley), we have arrived at San Francisco, our final destination for North America.

We are amazed by the stunning scenic discovered on the way and the well-preserved nature in all states visited. We also feel lucky having travelled outside the ‘rush’ season; who could imagine going through Monument Valley or Death Valley just by our own!!!

Over 4 month in Americas, and the one conclusion the 5 of us agreed on: we will be back. There is so many to discover and we had to make choices.

But in the end it is pleasant leaving the country thinking all the nice places we will be back for: Zion Park, Bryce Canyon, Mesa Verde, Yosemite, Grand Teton, White Sands, Carlsbad Caverns and many more. And how about skiing around lake Tahoe or in the Colorado mountains!!!

So it’s just a bye for now :-)

You can find a short list (or rather long list!) of our and best souvenirs on the North America page.
